Grein is easily accessible and explored by bicycle and lies directly on the Danube Cycle Path (EuroVelo 6). This historic town on the Danube is a popular stop for cyclists and offers a well-developed, flat cycling infrastructure along the river. The town center, the riverbanks, and attractions such as Greinburg Castle, the Grein town wall, and the historic town theater are all easily reached from the cycle path. Grein an der Donau is a worthwhile stop for cyclists on the Strudengau Route or the Danube Cycle Path. The town boasts Greinburg Castle, the oldest residential castle in Austria, the historic town theater, and the Gothic parish church. A special sundial on the Danube promenade invites you to linger. Beautiful old town with the Greinburg castle complex. Right at the entrance to the town there is a cozy café called Schörgi, where you can also sit outside. Usually easy to find as there are always lots of bikers there. The ice cream is definitely one of the best in the area and definitely recommended.
