The "Waggon am Kulturgleis" (often referred to as the "Kulturwaggon") in Offenbach am Main reopened in March 2026 at its original location on the banks of the Main River. After a temporary closure and events held in "exile" due to planned dike renovations, the venue resumed operations at its familiar location for a "bonus season" from March until the end of June 2026, as the construction work is expected to be delayed. Atmosphere: A relaxed setting with a bar, live performances, and plenty of outdoor seating directly on the Main River. Regular Events: Evenings with live music and rotating DJs are back, and the team is currently mourning the loss of long-time resident DJ Frankie Patella. The Catholic parish church of St. Cecilia, built in the Baroque style, was originally intended as a burial church for the Counts Schönborn in Heusenstamm.

There are several historic buildings on Schlossstrasse. One of the most important administrative buildings of the counts was located here until the 18th century.

The gatehouse, built in 1764, is a popular subject for photographs. Especially in the midday sun, the Schönborn family coat of arms above the passageway is beautifully illuminated. ...

The Forstallee is a central axis connecting the castle park with the surrounding area. As part of the development of the regional park route, this historic avenue was enhanced as an important element of the landscape design. Particular attention was paid to the design of the area between the two forest ponds. This section was conceived as a small "island" offering visitors a unique nature experience.

Another double highlight!

Maria Theresia von Schönborn was the wife of Count Anselm von Schönborn. She resided in Heusenstamm Castle and, after the early death of her husband in 1726, administered the Heusenstamm estate alone until her death in 1751. During her tenure, she had a lasting impact on the townscape of Heusenstamm, a fact still evident today through the parish church of St. Cecilia, which she financed. Just three years after its completion, in 1744, she had a magnificent schoolhouse built on the church square. This was the first schoolhouse in Heusenstamm. After the castle and the church, it was the most prestigious building in the town and by no means merely a functional structure.
