Artificial dikes and channels were built along the spring reservoir, dividing the water to form islands. Today, three main islands stand out: 1. Weeping Willow Island – one of the three larger islands in the reserve, named for the willows growing there and their "picturesque," melancholic character. 2. Lonely Larch Island – also covered with riparian and alder forest, with larch dominating the area (in the sense of the name, not necessarily the only tree growing there). 3. In addition to these, there is Duckling Island, often mentioned along with the others as part of the picturesque island system in this body of water.
