When coming from Visp from Neubrück, be sure to take the old cantonal road on the western side of the valley. This climb is a very special jewel among the pass roads, the piste is excellent, the characteristics varied. Only on very hot days can the climb be a little strenuous due to very little shade - in such cases, getting up early helps a lot.

The description "Alpe d'Huez" of Switzerland is correct because the route profile is very similar. It is not so hot early in the morning and you ride like in a picture book. The views all around are great. Next year the "Bärgüf" (Together against cancer) will take place on this route again. A great event with 800 participants. Those who like special experiences can start at 5 a.m. with most of the other participants.

Before the cream slices, a cheese and dried meat plate is definitely recommended! Or alternatively a raclette from the open fire! The dried meat comes from the local butcher in Stalden. Mhhhhhm!
