A beautiful mountain village on the magnificent Lac de Champex. Highly recommended, even on the way to the Great St. Bernard Pass; the extra elevation gain and fantastic route are definitely preferable to the busy national road in the valley.

Lac de Champex is nestled in the Swiss Alps, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The tranquil setting and crystal-clear waters make it a serene and picturesque spot along the TMB. The lake is a popular stop for hikers on the Tour du Mont Blanc trail. The TMB is a renowned long-distance trek that circumnavigates the Mont Blanc massif, passing through France, Italy, and Switzerland. Lac de Champex provides a refreshing and scenic break for hikers on this challenging route.

A picturesque lake located at the foot of the valley, surrounded by an iconic and historic mountain town. Many fantastic rides and routes start from this place, and the famous Tour du Mont Blanc passes through this town. The lake is an excellent place to enjoy the mountain ambiance and admire the magnificent views of the mountains that surround this valley.

The Col de la Croix de Coeur was participating in the 2023 Giro d'Italia. The road surface has been improved for the race, but near the summit some gravel remains. The Pass can be crossed easily by road bike and is generally open at the end of May, beginning of June depending on snow conditions. You may want to check in advance that the Pass is open.

A high point on the ridge above the front part of the Verbier ski and mountain bike resort. From here you will have a fantastic view of the resort, as well as the Valais mountains. Best of all, there's a diverse range of trails leading to this location, so there's a little bit for everyone. It's a great place to enjoy your sandwich before heading back down the slopes.
