Freddie Mercury Statue, Montreux “If you want peace of mind, come to Montreux,” said Freddie Mercury (1946–1991). He not only lived here but also recorded six of his albums with Queen, including “Made in Heaven.” His statue on the lakeside promenade was erected in his memory in 1996. The Alimentarium is located in the old Nestlé headquarters, a neoclassical building on the shores of Lake Geneva. This building dates back to 1867 and now provides an inspiring environment for the museum. The core of the museum programme is the permanent exhibition “Food – The Essence of Life”. This exhibition places visitors at the heart of the message and invites them to think about their bodies, their environment and their social circle. It offers valuable information about nutrition, health and culture. The Alimentarium organises various activities, such as culinary classes, workshops for adults, children, groups, companies and schools. You can cook together and learn more about nutrition and food history. There are also special school activities to make students aware of the history, culture, science and technology behind our food. A futuristic escape game called AL2049 immerses you in a world of food and nutrition. A unique experience for visitors who enjoy a challenge. The Alimentarium also has a beautiful garden overlooking Lake Geneva. This garden is an integral part of the museum scenography and offers an idyllic location to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

I recommend the high pass and a stop in Granvaux. The route is through the vineyards, with exceptional views and respect for the farm workers. Little traffic, some steep climbs, but we arrive with enthusiasm. In Granvaux, a "Corto Maltaise" village, take the time to go to the restaurant terraces and enjoy an ice cream: with the view, it has a different flavor!

The fork was probably a point of contention among the population for a long time before it could finally be installed and inaugurated.

Bourg-en-Lavaux is a municipality in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. It is located in the Lavaux-Oron district and is part of the beautiful Lavaux area, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007.
