The grounds are wonderfully well-maintained and authentic. The colorful koi in the lake are an attraction in their own right. Directly behind the National Park Center, you walk through a tall, wooden tree gate directly into Hainich National Park. A beautiful photo opportunity and a great starting point for hikes in the Hainich.

Here you can enjoy gently babbling waterfalls in this oasis and linger at the sacred tree square in the Japanese Garden.

The Japanese Garden is one of the city of Bad Langensalza's five themed gardens. A small circular trail through a beautiful forest. But why does it have to have three touring stamps?

The forest promenade is barrier-free and suitable for both young and old. The car park on the treetop path is the only one in the national park that costs 4 euros. The Thiemsburg restaurant, a snack bar, a large adventure playground for kids, the treetop path with root cave and an exhibition on the national park await you. There are free toilets and various information boards. Tip: if you want to go on the treetop path, even in the best weather and in the season, the off-peak times, right when it opens and even better two hours before it closes, are ideal. It's not just there to look at the trees and because of the great view, but also an adventure playground for everyone. Try out all the elements. Every Wednesday + Saturday from April to October there is a 1.5 hour circular hike over 4 km with the ranger.
