This is where the prince is buried - the owner of the Nebra Sky Disk. It is worth visiting the museum in Nebra. The original is in the museum in Halle.

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed, so we had to turn around at the checkout. Very annoying, as it wasn't written anywhere before and dogs are less destructive than people!

The Chinese "Garden of Eternal Happiness" is undoubtedly a highlight that radiates beyond Weißensee and the country. Because it was not a Disneyland for those curious about the Far East that was built here, but an original, even if it is around 8,000 km as the crow flies from the country of origin. Planned and built for the Thuringian State Horticultural Show 2013. In order to guarantee the authenticity, the direction was taken over by a planning office from Shanghai. The building materials for the various temples came from China, along with the construction team. Finally, the Chinese Ambassador was the opening guest. A true-to-style total art object has been created, harmoniously fitting into the old town and the surrounding landscape. Conclusion: Must see!

A highlight (slightly off the Unstrut cycle path) is the Leubinger Fürstenhügel, a burial mound of the Aunjetitz culture (1900 BC), the Bronze Age culture that produced the sky disc, the gold hats and a European trade network. Unfortunately, there are no plaques on the excavation finds themselves :-/ Unfortunately, we did not find the long house, which was a center of this culture, in nearby Dermsdorf ... not a sign, no indication of it. 😕😔

Unbelievable what we have here in Thuringia ... Even much earlier people knew where to live well. If you are near the Unstrut, you should definitely breathe a breath of 4000 years of history
