You have to do some serious climbing (no equipment required), but it's worth it: a magnificent view over the vast landscape.

Helene was named after the Mecklenburg princess who was born on January 24, 1814, at Ludwigslust Castle as the daughter of Hereditary Grand Duke Friedrich Ludwig of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Caroline of Saxe-Weimar. Helene was thus a granddaughter of Grand Duke Carl August of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. The princess received a very good education and also studied philosophy for two years in Jena.

You can climb the Dohlenstein directly, ideally with trekking poles. About 10 meters from the base of the rock, a path branches off to the right, leading directly to the Dohlenstein. You can also get right up to the rock if you're perfectly surefooted and use your poles to slide your left shoulder along the rock :-) 🤭🤫. Then, with your heart rate racing, you'll reach the aforementioned path.😴
