A real highlight for mountain bikers in the Franconian Forest. Due to the low gradient, the trail can also be ridden uphill without any problems. The time required for the almost 10km total route should not be underestimated because of the sections that are prepared in places by forestry machines and the frequent crossings of the stream over sometimes dilapidated bridges with steps. In between there is the beer fountain for refueling 🍺.

Curved trail of superlatives - if the vertical steep sections are too tricky for you, just ride the lower trail section (Schlangenweg or Ne9) for 5 km on the same contour line around the Muppberg between Neustadt and Ebersdorf. Best single trail in the wider area, including the Franconian Forest.

In the early 1880s, a cairn served as a lookout point at the site of the Lucas Cranach Tower. In 1884 a simple, twelve meter high wooden tower followed, which was destroyed in a storm shortly after it was erected. The construction of today's observation tower goes back to a large extent to the initiative of the Kronach local group of the Franconian Forest Association, founded in 1911. The work was carried out by master builder Franz Haun, who also designed the tower. The comparatively low construction costs of 4000 marks were partly covered by donations from the population. The Lucas Cranach Tower was completed after three months of construction on August 23, 1913, and it was officially inaugurated on September 22, 1913 (source: Tourismus Weißenbrunn website).

The ride in the Kremnitztalgrund from the Dobertal junction to the Finkenmühle is an absolute must for all mountain bikers. A footbridge is available as an alternative for most stream crossings. However, in damp conditions in the transitional season or when water levels are high, it may be advisable to choose the alternative route, which runs parallel in the forest and is halfway up the slope.

Definitely visit Kremnitztal, beautiful with the MTB through river crossings (alternatively bridges) through a wild and romantic valley.
