It is said that the cross on the back of these court stones is intended to give the condemned one last opportunity to pray before execution to ask for forgiveness for his sins

In summer it's a wonderful place to cool down a bit in the heat. The "zigzag path" up the hill south of the stream is beautifully decorated with small animal figures.

Really a beautiful spot on the bike path in the romantic Eisbachtal.

The lightning tubes are a natural monument in the form of a mineralogical phenomenon in the sandstone wall below the Battenberg castle ruins. The "Lange Stein" stands on the old elevated road Göllheim - Alsenborn and was formerly a place of justice for the Stauf rulers and a boundary stone (Sippersfeld - Rosenthal Monastery). Behind this big stone is a bench; another bench stands on the other side of this great crossroads. As a judgment stone, it was "once surrounded by smaller stones that bore a cross as a sign of justice". Some of these smaller stones are still standing around this large stone. In this respect, it is reminiscent of Ramsen's "Stumpfwaldgericht". The Long Stone is also an old boundary stone.
