The K2 tour actually goes through the Trübenbach valley, but there is a diversion due to fallen trees, but that didn't stop us. A nice stretch of the path would have been missing.

The copper ore mine on Schloßberg dates back to the middle of the 16th century. It took 20 years to work on the search tunnel. After about 28 meters the copper core was exhausted. Behind the gated entrance stands a statue of St. Barbara, the patron saint of miners.

The Hachenfels is very interesting in terms of natural history; because it has flora and fauna of great importance. The impressive rock made of melaphyr (boundary layer of the Unterrotlegen), which rises steeply directly on Federal Road 41, is the westernmost place of growth for the rare and geographically particularly important grape saxifrage community (Saxifraga paniculata community). http://www.baerenbach.de/Freizeit/Baerenroute/Naturdenkmal-Hachenfels/

The Schloßberg spring rises approx. 12 m inside the Schloßberg. It was set in a stone basin and ensured the Naumburg's drinking water supply, including the stately wine house, until the 18th century. From then on, for unknown reasons, the yield of the spring decreased so much that the residents of Naumburg had to rely on the water from the Bärenbach flowing in the valley. The 13.5 km long vitality tour 3-Burgen-Weg leads from the Kyrburg in the Kirner Nahetal to the Steinkallenfels and Wartenstein castles in the Hahnenbach gorge. The two castles are located on impressive rock walls (quartzite corridors) that stretch across the valley. Another destination are the free-standing, up to 30 m high quartzite rocks of the Kirner Dolomites, which protrude above the treetops above the Hahnenbachtal in several places.
