Anyone in Hannover-Kleefeld looking for a quick escape to nature will find themselves in the Eilenriede. This protected urban forest covers approximately 640 hectares and is divided into a northern and a southern section. The network of paths is well-developed and easy to navigate. Numerous benches, small ponds, and open clearings are located along the trails. The Eilenriede boasts around 80 km of hiking paths – perfect for a stroll during your lunch break or after work. In the Eilenriede, the city suddenly feels a world away.

In June 2025, several trees, some of them large, were lying across the path. It's a nice section, but the bike has to be lifted several times.
