The Lech is a right tributary of the Danube. The 256 km long river originates in Vorarlberg in the Hochtannberg region at the confluence of the Spullerbach and Formarinbach streams in the Tannläger valley. It flows through Tyrol and southern Bavaria, where it empties into the Danube. Shortly before the Austrian-German border, it joins the Vils river, forms the artificial Lechfall near Füssen, and crosses Swabia and Upper Bavaria on its way. Very quiet, no good view in winter, boring other seasons I don't know

The Paardurchbruch near Ottmaring is a remarkable natural phenomenon in the Wittelsbacher Land, near Friedberg in Bavaria. Here the river Paar breaks through the Lechleite in a narrow gate, a geological peculiarity, and then meanders in natural meanders through an original backwater area, which is lined by a natural silver willow forest. For nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts, the circular hiking trail “Zum Paardurchbruch” offers an ideal opportunity to explore this idyllic area. The approximately 9.8 kilometer long route runs mostly flat over asphalted and paved paths, partly also over meadow paths. The path initially leads along the railway line, then turns into the town of Rederzhausen, where you first encounter the Paar, and continues to Ottmaring to the Paardurchbruch. Along the way there are stations of a Nordic walking course, a fitness trail and an educational bee stand. The starting point of the hike is Friedberg train station, which makes it easy to get there by public transport. The entire tour takes about 2.5 hours and is also suitable for families with children. At the Paardurchbruch itself, the natural surroundings invite you to take a break and offer a perfect natural playground for children. The Paardurchbruch near Ottmaring is therefore a worthwhile excursion destination for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of nature in the Wittelsbacher Land.
