The great terrain between the Mönchsteich and the Grossensee not only looks great, you can also bike there.

The path is passable. Actually, we always went for a walk here. But it is also fun to ride a gravel or mountain bike here. In certain weather conditions it is not always easy to get through here, as christian427 also says.

In January 2022, the path (coming from Beimoorweg) was impassable from halfway due to mud - it is now also used by horse riders. At a small mini pond it then became impossible to continue the tour. A small stream had dammed up there - it was impossible to pass through here - mud without end and in places up to 20 cm deep. The stream was almost 4 meters wide - so I either had to turn back or go cross-country to the main path. I had chosen the latter... Update: Dry and easy to ride in summer (September 2023)!

The Bocksberg is currently not accessible by bike. Since the Corona period, a lot of people have been out and about here and cyclists in particular are prevented from riding by tree trunks and branches. There are probably just too many of us. Otherwise, there are great mountain bike trails here that you would certainly enjoy riding on a normal bike.

Bocksberg, Schüberg and Mellenberg, three small 60s in the immediate vicinity. If you then conquer the Hummelsbüttel garbage mountains, you have passed the big mountain license in the north of Hamburg. The ascents and descents are now blocked by many branches and trees and have been made impassable. If you want to get to the top, you have to push or look for alternative routes. That is also possible, but it is no longer MTBing, it is really just there to have seen the mountain.

As the others say: There are many ways to the Bocksberg. Sometimes too many, however, so that some of the paths were blocked with trees. There is a risk of injury here, as some cannot be seen straight away. Nevertheless, I can understand the barriers, because nature also needs its rest.
