I'm there several times a week and can always look forward to this beautiful hiking, riding and cycling area. Meadows, fields, the moor and the forest alternate, there is something for everyone depending on their mood. Just great.

Extensive park and garden area near the HH-Dammtor train station and the CCH, with water areas, cascades, flower beds, old trees, themed gardens, such as the Japanese garden with traditional tea house, rose garden, apothecary garden. There are plenty of places to sit, playgrounds, kiosks and cafes. The park lake is home to the water organ with its seasonal light and water show, which is shown from May to September. https://www.hamburg-magazin.de/artikel/wasserlichtspiele-in-planten-un-blomen

The Niendorfer enclosure is a natural idyll in the middle of Hamburg. The almost 150-hectare forest area lies between the districts of Niendorf, Stellingen, Eidelstedt and Schnelsen. The Niendorfer enclosure is easily accessible by bus and train. Although the area is surrounded by streets and houses, hikers can quickly escape the big city on the 15 kilometers of hiking trails. You will quickly find peace and relaxation under the treetops of the up to 200-year-old beech, oak and spruce trees. The paths that lead through the forest are well paved and offer ideal conditions for a nice hike, jog or bike ride. There is a lot to discover along the winding paths, so that you constantly come across new places. Hiking tip included :-) A good starting point for a hike through the Niendorf enclosure is at the former forester's lodge. This can be found quickly if you head for the car park on Bondenwald Street. There is a game reserve with fallow deer. From there it goes west, straight through the forest. You walk until the street "Niendorfer Gehege" crosses the path. If you turn right, the Waldcafe CorelI will soon appear. There you can stop for a little refreshment before continuing north. There is now a large paddock on the left, which you walk around. Once you have reached the other side, you are on the Kollerau hiking trail, which splits at the southern end of the paddock. Now there is the possibility to turn left and disappear back into the forest. Soon you come across the crossing to the forest café again, but now head south until you reach the Kollau, a small stream that frames the Niendorfer enclosure. Anyone who has previously decided at the fork in the Kollerau hiking trail that they would rather continue hiking in the open simply follows the course of the stream to the south around the Niendorfer enclosure. Both route variants meet again at the southern end of the forest. Continue north into the forest. If you walk back in the direction of the game reserve, you can admire the Mutzenbecher Villa before you get back to the starting point.

Visitors can explore Schleswig-Holstein's largest raised bog on a nearly four-kilometer-long nature trail. It leads over soft peat soil, through birch forests, and along a boardwalk. Information boards along the trail provide information about the extraordinary flora and fauna. At three different locations, vantage points offer a beautiful view of the moor lake and the former peat mining areas.

The Niendorfer Gehege is a popular recreational forest in the north of the Hanseatic city with a wide range of leisure activities. In addition to watching animals, especially the little ones can explore the former private forest from the back of a pony. Almost 150 hectares of wooded area want to be explored in the Niendorfer Gehege. Some of the reasons to visit this former private forest in the Eimsbüttel district are the peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the big city and the beech, spruce and oak trees that are up to 200 years old. A foreign tree population has also developed in recent years. https://www.hamburg.de/niendorfer-gehege/

The Butterbargsmoor nature reserve is a habitat for rare plants and animals. A very beautiful moor with a lake. You can relax wonderfully here.
