"Fern Oak on the Gänsemarkt This is a rare, accidentally grown variety (mutation) of the native English oak (Ouercus ruhur). Its sinuous, slit leaves are typical. The occurrence of a fern oak was first documented in 1855 in southern Germany and in 1864 in France. It cannot be propagated by seed. Around 1920, a fern oak cutting was grafted onto the English oak at this location. The graft bulge is still visible. However, the origin of the cutting and who carried out the planting can no longer be determined." Source: Information board of the municipality of Neuburg

The grave is great and fits there

☆ Megalithic tomb from the Neolithic period, built between 3100 and 2900 BC. Unfortunately the ceiling of the rocks has slipped inwards. So it can only be viewed from the outside.

Coming from Neubukow, you walk directly past the fish ladder. A display board provides various information. Diagonally opposite, the path leads along the edge of the field to the beautiful Hellbachtal.

On a round trip around Rerik you automatically come to this mountain, from which you have a very beautiful view of Rerik, the lake and the adjacent pastures.

Access is via the field next to the electricity pylon.

Behind the old water mill you come to the Hellbach, to which a beautifully designed fish ladder leads. An interesting fish ladder paves the way for the fish upstream.

While hiking on the coastal path from Rerik, you can quickly and easily manage a small climb to the summit of six meters ;-). If that's too steep for you, you can also go around the Kuhberg by the water.
