A great idea to bring together boulders from the region and very informative.

The beaver has dammed a ditch here with an impressive dam that is over a meter high. He dug his beaver den as a cave in the embankment somewhere further up the ditch. The (dry) den is above the water level, but the beaver uses the dam to ensure that the entrance to the den (through a pipe from the ditch) is always below the water level - this makes the den difficult to find and well protected.

The megalithic tombs are not directly on the route but a bit up the field path when you come out of the forest and turn right instead of left to Sassen. They are part of a larger burial ground around Sassen of around 30 large stone tombs that are still preserved.

The Long Mountains are a relic from the Ice Age, heaped up from gravel and sand. Approximately in the middle there is a hut to rest.
