There is no more nature than this, exciting paths are a challenge with a normal bike and only recommended in dry weather. Fantastic area.

The Buursermeertje is a wonderful place to relax or to enjoy the heathland and forests around the area. You can easily get there, almost next to the lake you can park the car next to the sandy path.

The Schwatte Gatt (Black Hole) is a nature reserve in Vreden-Lünten in the Borken district of Münsterland. It was designated a nature reserve in 1958 and expanded to its current size of approximately 62 hectares in 1992.

A small lake in the heath area. Interesting is the explanatory board in front of it, which explains that the lake was artificially created. (An open-air museum was to be built here.) For a time it even served as a swimming pool. In this year 2022, however, it has almost run dry.

The Hünenburg is a Carolingian complex from the second half of the eighth century. It is recognizable as a double wall system. All of the walls were accompanied by ditches on the outside, which are still recognizable today as hollows. Overall, the complex is comparatively well preserved. However, no remains of any buildings have survived. However, you should explore the complex on foot as cycling is prohibited within the complex.
