A very nice observation station for observing water birds in the Lippe meadows. The area itself is a paradise for wildlife. Since there are car parking spaces right next to the station, on nice days it can happen that all the "window seats" are occupied by photographers with tripods and long telephoto lenses. Immediately at the station there is also an occupied stork's nest.

The former quarry is located in Beckum, a short distance from the Werse river, next to Ahlener Straße. It's now also known as the "Blue Lagoon." A very nice spot where you can relax.

There are beautiful cycle paths and footpaths along the Lippe, with rest benches and places at larger intervals.

The former Radbodsee is located in the Alte Lippe nature reserve and is beautiful in every season. Via the "Lippehof" path you can drive directly to the Halde Radbod or in the other direction to the Datteln-Hamm Canal, which is separated from the Lippe by the Mitteldamm.

Here nature is still nature, just more tangible. The paths are well developed and easy to drive on, but they can get muddy at times. There are always information signs that explain the local nature.

The Lippe is very beautiful and varied and great for cycling with various routes. Römer-Lippe-Route or Auenland-Route are perfect with lookout points and lookout towers. You should therefore always have binoculars with you. So you can watch and enjoy without disturbing the animals and plants.
