This entire building complex, with its half-timbering and the striking tower, which can be easily recognized from the surrounding valleys, is now a listed building.

The Wittekindsburg service station offers hikers a good stop to take a breather. In addition, from the Wittekindsburg you have a wonderful view of the flowing valley with the Costedter ponds.
