The Jakobsberg, popularly known as Leberblümchenberg, is a nature reserve with a size of 47.3 hectares in the Amshausen district of the municipality of Steinhagen (Westphalia) in the district of Gütersloh. It is listed with the number GT-015 and consists of two adjoining individual areas that are privately owned. The nature reserve is plant-geographically significant because it represents the north-western limit of the distribution area of the endangered liverwort in Europe. In addition, it is a location of unspoilt low and medium forest. When the liverworts are in bloom from mid-March, the area is a heavily frequented tourist attraction. At the same time, several species of violets bloom at the edge of the forest. A little later, large numbers of white and occasionally yellow wood anemones bloom. The cowslip blooms in April. Very tricky but also fun! I would advise beginners to check beforehand whether it is really something for them, as the trail is very technical and steep.
