The spherical sundial: Friedrich Wilhelm Wolff had a spherical sundial erected at the intersection of the Domallee and the dike at the end of his term as city architect. It bears two inscriptions. East side: On this desolate land of the former Meyerey Herrenkrug, this park was created in 1818 at the instigation of Mayor Francke with the approval of the municipal council, for the recreation and amusement of the residents of Magdeburg. West side: Under the supervision and management of the Garden Deputation, this park has been built since 1818, expanded and maintained by the city architect Wolff with the skilled gardeners Minding and Erich. This monument was erected by St.B. Wolff at the end of his 56-year term of office in 1861. C. Schönberg fecit. The spherical sundial was restored in 1989.
