A very beautiful place – the entire palace garden is open to the public for €2. There's a picnic area, plenty of benches for relaxing, a rose hill with a viewpoint with umbrellas, peacocks, ponds with fish and water lilies, an orchard, a café, and the Planet Garden. The extensive landscape park surrounding Graz's Eggenberg Castle, with its valuable trees, is one of the most precious garden monuments in the country.

Nice rest stop or highly recommended for a small picnic.

A pleasant place to take a break and enjoy nature and the water

At the top of the mountain you have a great panoramic view of the city, ideally sitting on the wall with a drink. It is also a great place in the evening to enjoy the city lights.

In summer, it's a sweaty affair to walk up the steps to the clock tower. But with every bend you get a different view of the city. The Kriegssteig is one of the many paths up the mountain that you should definitely walk at least once.

The Weinzödl bird sanctuary is an ideal place for a short break during the run. You can walk right to the Mur and watch the rushing river.
