A K90 (hill size 100, normal hill) and a K120 (hill size 134, large hill) ski jump are located on Lungnet. Unfortunately, they are no longer used in the annual international ski jumping competitions because their take-off radii no longer meet the requirements. However, the jumps are still used in Nordic combined events.

Famous ski jumps in Falun, built for the 1974 World Ski Championships. This is where Jan Boklöv invented the V-style in ski jumping in the 1980s.

860 meters in altitude in seven minutes: The Åre cable car (Kabinbanan) makes Åreskutan the most easily accessible high mountain in Sweden. The mountain station is at an altitude of 1274 meters, the valley station is located just above the central square Åre torg at 421 meters above sea level. From the mountain station and from the nearby summit at an altitude of 1,420 meters you have a view that stretches for kilometers over the mountains of Jämtland. The cable car was built as part of the Åre project, where the Swedish government decided in 1972 to allocate money to create a ski area in Årefjällen where “normal” people could also afford to ski. The Kabinbana was opened in 1976. Each cabin can accommodate 75 people. The train usually runs every 20 minutes. Dogs are welcome in one of the mountain huts, but four-legged friends must generally be kept on a leash on the mountain.

Lugnet is a large sport complex (not only ski jumping) There are six full sized indoor pitches in the area. There are also two swimming pools (one indoors and one outdoors), a tennis hall, an athletics arena, an ice arena including one indoor ice hockey rink, an outdoor ice hockey rink, a bandy field and a curling hall. Lugnet is also Sweden's national cross-country skiing and ski jumping centre (the Lugnet Hills ski jump) and often hosts one part of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup. Several FIS Nordic World Ski Championships have been organised here (1974, 1993, 2015). The major highlight for me is the MTB from the hill down to the lift. They use the lift from the ski jumping to carry the bikes up.

A lot of trail fun is made from a few meters of altitude here. Those who like roots and rocks will get their money's worth. Lift tickets (and equipment if applicable) must be ordered and paid for online. Snacks are available, and you have to order and pay for them using the app.
