It is the westernmost spur of the Rätikon range. The mountain lies within the municipality of Fläsch, with the village located slightly south between Regitzer Spitz and the Rhine to the west. The northern foot of the Fläscherberg forms the state and national border with the Principality of Liechtenstein. The latter's territory on the Fläscherberg never reaches higher than 660 meters, which is only 200 meters above the valley floor near Balzers. The Siechastuda near Jenins is a rare wetland in the upper Rhine Valley and provides habitat for over 180 bird species as well as numerous amphibians such as toads, frogs, and newts. The area is a hotspot for birdwatching, especially during the spring and fall migrations.

This is not the southernmost point of FL, only the southernmost point on the Rhine... A little further east, up in the Ellhorn area at around 600 m, FL is even further south.
