Christian's description is accurate. Access is closed (even for cyclists) after the gravel path, the descent in the upper section is hardly visible (overgrown with grass) and not really rideable, at least for me with a hardtail.

According to the signs, the ascent from Erzherzog Johann Klause is officially prohibited. The upper part is more like S3 (muddy and steep), but can be pushed within 5 minutes if necessary. The lower part is up to the forest path S1-2, sometimes quite slippery on the wooden steps. There are a few trees in the way, but these are easy to climb over.

A descent that really demands everything from the mountain bike. Good brakes are a must!

Very nice, technically not difficult gravel descent. As a mountain biker, I would understand something different by “kick turns”: it just goes down a wide, well-paved forest path with occasional curves. However, the gravel on the way requires a certain concentration! The landscape is especially great as soon as you leave the forest and the landscape opens up.

a must for every mountain biker. Much more interesting and varied than the desolate descent down the Spitzingsattel.
