In itself one of the coolest trails in the area, but unfortunately no longer to be used from about halfway because it is currently (and probably for a very long time) being reforested. Even if that frustrates me, renaturation is an important process that I believe should be respected.

A ravine is a path that has cut up to 10 meters deep into the surrounding terrain through centuries of use by carts and cattle as well as rainwater runoff. Here you can clearly see the wall that has been created to the right and left of the path, but it is actually unsightly due to the felled beetle spruce.

Unfortunately not so idyllic anymore due to clearing, but a nice way when it's dry.

The path is now free again and easy to walk on! So you can hike freely through the beautiful forest again. :)

Actually ok in winter, but quite muddy. Better to drive down from Lüderich than up.

Please consider this and the other routes in this area: these trails are all illegal and, if at all, tolerated in the broadest sense. So behave - as always - considerate in every respect so that it stays that way. Why am I writing this? Recently, some bikers wanted to tell me that this trail is official because it is set by komoot. No, it's not like that. In this sense: See you soon in the forest !!

Bad to drive. Everything overgrown and not much fun. Probably more mobile in winter / spring.

The remains of the tree-felling work seem to have been removed, but currently always quite overgrown. Definitely more fun in winter.
