Probably the most famous trail between Beyenburg and Radevormwald. Starts off very flowing and becomes increasingly more challenging. Ends with a steep descent to the Wupper.

"The Kothener Busch is a wooded local recreation area in the city of Wuppertal. The forest area, which has been used as a recreation area since the 19th century, is located in the Unterbarmen district in the Kothen and Lichtenplatz residential areas. It extends from 230 meters above sea level. NN up to 320 meters above sea level. NN up the Wuppertaler Südhöhen and is bounded in the north and east by the Obere Lichtenplatzer Straße (Landesstraße 419) and in the west by the notched valley of the Auer Bach. Other watercourses are the Kothener Bach, which also forms a deep notched valley, and the Lichtenplatzer Bach. To the east of the Kothener Busch are the Barmer Forest and the Barmer parks. In the north of the Kothener Busch are the allotment gardens Kothen, Kothener Wald, in the east the allotment garden Springen and in the south the allotment garden Lichtenplatz. The Wupperweg and the Residenzenweg cross the forest area. The Kothener Busch is designated as a 58.6 hectare landscape conservation area. A former quarry in the form of a gorge, designated as a natural monument, forms an interesting geological structure in the forest area. Due to a lot of fallen trees in the lower area, unfortunately still not passable again.

At the very bottom, work has already begun on cutting up the fallen trees. Now there isn't just one trunk at a time, but several parts that you have to climb over. But maybe they will be gone soon and the steep part will continue. Let's just hope that no heavy equipment is used and the trail is preserved.
