Erfurt was a well-known wine town in the Middle Ages. In Tiefthal, in the immediate vicinity of Schwellenburg, vineyards were already mentioned in documents in 1074.
So you could find on the Schwellenburg undoubtedly remnants that occupy an old wine history. Through the mining of rocks and vineyards, in the past centuries, the characteristic thresholds have emerged.
The Schwellenburg has been a nature reserve since 1939.

Route 1 (green) Ready for the hunt for personal bests. The circuit includes an exciting descent with challenges for everyone. A single-track uphill takes you back to the starting point for the next lap.
Route 2 (blue) Our flowing single trail with easy elements, berms, and waves is perfect for beginners to push their limits and surpass themselves.
Route 3 (red) Start small, get big. Our jump line offers lots of fun and airtime. It's peppered with variable takeoffs, tables, and berms. The highlight is the large table with a view of Erfurt city center.
Route 4 (black) Ready when you are. Despite its compact length, our downhill line for advanced riders offers a steep and fast descent, drops of varying heights, and always an opportunity to pull away.

Small, pretty, but sometimes quite narrow trails and ramps, jumps (some of which can be avoided), not necessarily suitable for beginners. Some experience is definitely required. The trails (we've only been on the Flowride trail and the turnaround loop so far) are fun, though. 👍🏻😁

The trail park officially opened on May 25, 2025. Thanks to MTB Erfurt and everyone who made it possible! 👍

Unfortunately, the upper part of this trail is no longer rideable because a large tree has fallen and is in the way (see photo). The tree will probably not be removed, and the surrounding area is increasingly looking like a jungle.
