A fantastic waterfall, well worth a look.

Fairly easy walk to a stunning waterfall

very muddy trail.

A lovely lonely isolated outcrop of fell sandstone hidden in a dense forest. It may have been a gathering place in days past and hence its name. A very old and eerie gathering place at that. A lovely place full of character though.

Exposed rocky tracks that are waterways during rainfall are what these bridleways are. Can be difficult to ride on and getting rythmn peddling can be difficult. Plenty sections need the bike pushed. Be careful, there are loads of rocky drops where it can be very easy to twist ankles.

Lordenshaws is an ancient Iron Age hill fort built around 2000 years ago. There is also evidence of a Bronze Age burial mound. The cup and ring marks on this great stone are thought to be rock art etched into the stone by Neolithic and Bronze Age people between 6000 and 3500 years ago. It's well worth running up here from the car park before starting a loop of the Simonside Hills to have a look at this ancient monument and take in the views of the hills you're about to run. It's also on the St Oswald's Way long distance trail or on the way to the Simonside Hills from Rothbury.

The ancient Fort on the top of the hill is fascinating. I loved seeing the cup and ring markings on the large rocks.

Lovely little secluded rock formation in the trees with amazing views. Great place to take a rest and a bite to eat.

this is one of my favorite places.the waterfall is stunning and if you are planning going there i would certainly be thinking about enjoying presence of the waterfall by jumping in.

Lordenshaws is an Iron Age hillfort with Bronze Age burial mounds. Perhaps the most interesting thing here is the Cup and Ring marked rock. Created by our Neolithic and Early Bronze Age ancestors between 6,000 and 3,800 years ago, the carvings you see etched into the rock are a wonderful time capsule and are becoming increasingly rare to see.

This waterfall is stunning and a must see when visiting Ingram Valley. Its a nice hike to it and you can get to the top and bottom and even take a dip if you want to in the pool by jumping in off the waterfall.

Short walk from Lordenshaw Car Park to this.

An isolated outcrop of fell sandstone hidden in the forest. Its name may be a reference to the rock’s use as a gathering place. There is a set of cup marks in the stone on the lower right side of the rock which are thought to be man-made and could be over 4,000 years old.

To the west of the marked location, off the path. The main entrance is clearly visible on the southern side as a break in the ditch and a fine staggered rampart which is very well preserved. A well defined hollow way is visible leading westwards from the entrance.

This breathtaking waterfall cascades almost 60 feet (18 metres) down a rockface to a plunge pool below. At any time of year, this is a beautiful place to find yourself. In summer, though, the waterfall and pool become an enchanting place to relax and cool-off. Linhope Spout is located inside the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, so get ready for some starlit skies on a clear evening. Keep a look-out for the extremely rare red squirrels here, too.
