The Mannheimer Hut is located at 2,679 m (8,600 ft) near the Brandner Glacier in the Rätikon region of Vorarlberg. Schesaplana and Panülerkopf are easily accessible from there (T3). Due to water scarcity, the hut has a sophisticated water management system. The listed hut offers a terrace, two guest rooms, 28 beds in shared rooms, and 60 beds in dormitories. There is a winter room with eight beds. The "easiest" approach to the Mannheimer Hut seems to me to be from Lüner See along the flank of the Schesaplana over the Brandner Glacier. However, due to the ice crossing, I strongly recommend snow spikes and poles. The ascent from the Zalimtal via the Leibersteig or Straußsteig is significantly more challenging (T4).
