Magnificent panorama of the Puy de Dôme!

Beautiful view, the paths are a real carpet....

Built in 1933 to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the Redemption of the world by Christ, the Ternant cross stands proudly at an altitude of 1,000 metres on the heights of Clermont-Ferrand. For the walker, it offers above all a magnificent panorama of Clermont-Ferrand and the Chaîne des Puys.

At this point there is a small rapid in front of a sandbank where you can put your feet in the water to cool off (don't forget your towel!). The real waterfalls (petit et grand Cornand) are above the Rout Beauvaleix and are signposted.

This former fortified castle located 594 meters above sea level on a puy overlooks the Limagne plain. Its role was to monitor and protect Riom and its surroundings. This medieval castle was the property of the counts of Auvergne. It was later a royal castle. This shows its strategic importance in Auvergne. Unique, inside the dwellings, old plasters served as supports for graffiti, depicting a wolf hunt.

The Puy de Jumes is located on a chain of nine volcanoes including the Puy de Lemptégy, those of Les Gouttes and Chopine, and of course its twin, the Puy de la Coquille. The views and surrounding trails are magnificent.
