Each of these crosses, which the traveler often encounters in the fields or, as here, on the mountaintops—in this case combined with a beautiful view of the lake and the opposite shore—is a sign commemorating the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. “Here on earth, His memory exists, but in the Kingdom of Heaven is His presence: this presence is the joy of those who have already attained salvation. The many lichens, ferns and mosses on the trees fit very well into a fairy forest.

The cycle path around the lake is very busy, so plan to leave early!

A lovely, quiet, grassy beach by the lake, with steps for swimming and tall trees for shade. Bicycles can be parked at the beach entrance, along the path.

The view from the Belvédère du Pas du Roc is breathtaking, offering a panoramic view of the valley below. From this vantage point, you can admire the vast landscape, where rolling hills, dense forests and meandering rivers create a picturesque scene. The dramatic cliffs and rugged terrain add to the grandeur of the view.

Breathtaking viewpoint over the Pertuis valley and the Diau cave, and the rocky bar with the Plan de l'Aigle and the Tête de Bunant. Be very careful on the steps of the Sentier des Espagnols. It's slippery, even in dry weather.

The perfect place to take a short break between a few km of cycling.

You pass by when you drive around the lake. There are several places like this! But go in the morning! In the afternoon it is often crowded.
