Impressive climb to the Tudons port, impressive views, and on the way down good places to stop for a drink, without rushing

It is the highest part of the Barranc de l'Ametlla path. It is one of the steepest in the term but the complicated parts are paved, so if you are willing you can climb well on both sides.

This is one of the mythical ports and most frequented by local cyclists. It rises more than 1000 meters above sea level, has good road surface, the landscapes are spectacular and it usually has little motorized traffic.

It's a beautiful climb, between pine and olive trees, about 12 kilometers long, with good road surfaces and usually little motorized traffic. It has an average gradient of 5% and a total ascent of over 600 meters. A classic in the area.

It is a port without great demands (maximum slope of 10%) that will allow us to enjoy the landscape of pine and holm oak trees and the wide views of the coast that open up at the top. We start in Alcoi, at the Fernando Reig bridge over the Barxell river taking the N-340 in the direction of Xixona. It is a long straight uphill stretch with a service road on the right that we can take for a kilometer (until the intersection with the CV-797, Font Roja road) to avoid traffic as much as possible.

On the way over Guadalest you pass two passes, the Port de Confrides Δ 970 m and the Port de Tudons Δ 1025 m. Once you reach the top you get a little feeling of victory. Then there's the magnificent descent!🚴🏻‍♂️ A great tour in the mountains that is really worth all the effort!
