Beautiful path on the banks of the Júcar river through an impressive valley between Alcalá de Júcar and La Recueja.

Jorquera is one of the most impressive municipalities in Castilla-La Mancha. Located on a rocky hill surrounded by the Júcar river. Here, just below, next to the dam on the river, some natural pools were formed, a mandatory stop to rest in the summer. Swimming area with natural shade and a place to have a picnic.

The reservoir was built in 1964 to regulate the flow of the Júcar River and guarantee the supply of water to the population and farmland in the area. It has a storage capacity of about 100 million cubic meters of water. The area is popular for water sports such as fishing, canoeing and windsurfing.

Beautiful country road along the Rio Jucar - absolutely recommendable.

The lonely road takes you into the impressive Hoz del Júcar. Here, the cliff walls get higher and higher, boxing in the river in its path. If you go east, Tolosa is the last town where you can get supplies.
