The path along the Barragán River, known as the Senda da Fraga do Río Barragán, is a very picturesque hiking route in Galicia. This circular route begins and ends in Xunqueiras, in the municipality of Pazos de Borbén.😎🚶‍♂️🌄

A tributary of the Oitavén River that acts as a natural border between the municipalities of Fornelos de Montes and Pazos de Borbén. It houses a hiking itinerary (PR-G 164 or Senda da Fraga do Barragán). It stands out for its closed riverside forest landscape, and also for its cultural and ethnographic aspects. You can find canals, mills, bridges, cobbled paths, etc., which demonstrate the importance of the river in the lives of the residents.

The path next to the Barragán river runs through the parishes of Pazos de Borbén and Fornelos de Montes. The Fragas del Barragán route (PR-G164) was created and strengthened in 2011. The route runs through one of the best-preserved oceanic forests in the province of Pontevedra

Stone bridge built in the 16th century over a narrow gorge of the Almofrei river, a stone path that connects the small towns of Almofrei and Mirón. There are very nice river pools for wild swimming. Serious station or mill buildings are situated along the river and the bridge, they use the power of the river to create flour

Access to Portalén is very affordable thanks to the network of tracks created to serve the wind turbines in the area.
