We were given a break to relax in the morning hours. As quiet and peaceful as ever.

The viewing platform can be reached via 225 steps. Above the treetops, there is a unique panoramic view from the Black Forest to the Alps. The Hagenhütte is about a 10-minute walk below the Hagenturm. This hut is open to everyone all year round, every weekend on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (current opening times: http://kos-altkadetten.ch/) Drinks, a small snack and delicious cakes can be bought from the hut warden. The range varies depending on the hut warden.

Only 227 steps so no problems...

There are no restaurants here, but there is a large meadow right next to the tower with several fireplaces, benches and wood provided. But be careful: the wood is left unprotected in the open air, so it takes a long time to start a fire after long periods of rain. The Hagenturm is a top intermediate destination on a hike from Merishausen to Bargen, the northernmost municipality in Switzerland. The meadow is signposted as a "public playground and camp meadow". Space without end and barbecue facilities.
