From here, just off Beachy Head Road, you are either at the start or coming to the finish of the South Downs Way, depending on which direction you started from. Here you have views north across towards Eastbourne, whilst behind you are the famed cliffs of Beachy Head, and of course to the east, sublime views out over the English Channel.

Great place with cafe, shop and ice cream stalls. Starting point for a nice tour over the cliffs.

Beachy Head is breathtakingly beautiful. The tour over the cliffs and the view of the lighthouse are really worth it. However, you have to share the view with many others as the area has become very touristy. There is a café for breaks and there is also an information center with a shop.

Beachy Head is an iconic landmark close to Eastbourne. At 162m (531ft) it looms above the sea, its high chalky peak easily recognisable. Its name comes from the French 'beau chef', meaning beautiful headland.

The site of a Neolithic causewayed enclosure, Combe Hill is a 636-foot (194 m) high point on the South Downs escarpment above Eastbourne. The hill boasts fine sea vistas and great views down onto the town. The enclosure was built around 3200 BC and is made of two concentric ditches. Archaeological discoveries have included Roman pottery, Bronze Age bowl barrows and flint tools.
