Passo Tre Croci is so called because of three curious wooden crosses on the top. The legend of this place dates back to the beginning of the eighteenth century. It seems that three women from Case Trogoni set out to go to Porretta Terme via the Castelluccio road. Even though it was June, when they arrived there they were surprised by a snowstorm. The three women froze to death and three crosses were erected in their memory. To ensure that a similar tragedy would never happen again, the first refuge for wayfarers was built, which will later become the Monte Cavallo refuge: the Pellegrino bivouac.

A classic of Corno alle Scale freeride. Long and sometimes challenging trail, with rock passages and technical segments. It ends directly at the Segavecchia Refuge. In the initial part there are some slightly exposed stretches, but nothing excessively dangerous. One of the best downhill track in the area. Long and technical, but huge satisfaction. Very hard if wet, especially latest segment, just above the river.

A picture cannot tell you how beautiful is the road that skirts Reno River just after Porretta Terme. A gentle climb that will leave you time and breath to admire the landscape of the valley.
