The first 3 km are a nightmare. Overgrown paths, sharp thorns. The trail is barely visible. GPS is a must. Once you reach the top, there's a marked path that's easy to navigate, with beautiful views. The last 4 km are another nightmare, and GPS is essential otherwise you'll get lost. The paths are extremely bad and difficult to navigate. I don't know who set them out, but they're terrible.

Majestic and unexpected, it is possible to climb up via the quarry road, which is asphalted and all in all in good condition.

Both the old and new parts are worth visiting. Old Canolo is dominated by Mount Mutolo, the southern Dolomites.

Small reference center going in a southerly direction, since after that there are no other inhabited centers for several kilometers. From here you can visit Monte Mutolo and Canolo Vecchia, as well as head towards S. Giorgio Morgeto.

The stretch that from Passo della Limina leads to Canolo is among the most beautiful of the cycle path from a landscape point of view. You go up quite a bit crossing woods and reserves of beech and conifers in pleasant solitude, until you reach the plateau which leads to the crossroads for Canolo Nuova. But once you have arrived here, in Aspromonte, you absolutely must not miss arriving near the historic center of "old" Canolo, dominated by immense rocky towers in the middle of two deep canyons: a beguiling place that greatly influenced the English painter and writer Edward Lear .

From the top there is a great view down.
