Beautiful summit with 360 degree panorama

Perched on one of the most evocative panoramas of Lake Maggiore, the smallest of the sacred mountains of Piedmont offers a breathtaking view of the Lombard pre-Alps. Among chestnut woods and an ancient archaeological path, there are the sanctuary, three chapels dedicated to the Incoronata, to San Giovanni Battista and to Abraham, and the eighteenth-century portico of the Via Crucis. The unique atmosphere, the mild climate and the beauty of the lake make it an enchanting and fascinating destination.

The Orrido di Sant'Anna is a deep gorge carved out by the Cannobino torrent, not far from Cannobio. With its sheer rock walls and crystal-clear waters, it is an ideal destination on hot summer days, when many visitors stop to swim or explore the scenic paths that run alongside it. Nearby is a small church dedicated to Sant'Anna, dating back to the 17th century.

Really impressive. The path of the crucifixion is very elaborately designed. Up here there is also a restaurant with a great outdoor area and some hiking trails. Unfortunately we didn't get a view of the lake because everything disappeared in a murky soup.

One of our favorite hikes in Ticino! Scenic driveway with the post bus from Magadino. Short climb from the Alpe di Neggia (unfortunately closed), magnificent view from Monte Gambarogno and a beautiful, comfortable descent to Alpe Cedullo (be sure to stop off). Mostly through Buchenwald down to Indemini and with the post bus (note the timetable!) back to Magadino.
