The Amendolea river originates in the Aspromonte park at 1,720 meters above sea level, begins its course between cliffs and gorges and creates wonderful waterfalls. Rocca del Drago called in dialect "Rokka du Traku" for its resemblance to a three-eyed dragon. It would seem that these were created by human hand, perhaps in the Neolithic age. According to some, it is simply a bizarre work of nature. Legend has it that a blind dragon lived under the rock and fed on the milk contained in rocky compartments, hence the name milk boilers. Another legend has it that the dragon guarded a treasure right there that would have been discovered by anyone who had offered a kid, a completely black cat and a child as a sacrifice.

In this place there is the so-called Rocca del Drago (in dialect "Rokka du Traku"), which in fact resembles a three-eyed dragon. According to sources it is believed that these were created by humans in the Neolithic age, but there is also the hypothesis that it was a natural phenomenon.

According to legend, the Rocca was home to an evil dragon who spent his time terrorizing the residents of Roghudi and wanting the town's children as victims. In order to appease the beast, the residents then went to the rocks of the milk cauldrons (later called so), where they boiled the milk in large pots and offered it to the dragon to calm it down.
