My hiking suggestion in the Monfragüe National Park: I start at the village of Villarreal de San Carlos and take the main path to the mountain Cerro Gimio. Here I enjoy the breathtaking view. We then continue along the lower path back to the village. Gnarled holm oaks line the path and I always enjoy the wonderful hilly and strangely gnarled landscape. Alternatively, you can walk along one of the narrow paths along the river. Unfortunately, they were closed when I visited. From this viewpoint we can see the Tagus River and the impressive bridge on the EX-208 highway, which connects Plasencia and Zorita.

From this point you can see one of the most emblematic natural elements of the Monfragüe National Park. The magnificent rock formation of Salto coming out of the mountain created by geological forces and time.

Very close to the town of Villarreal de San Carlos and on the so-called Yellow Route, is this viewpoint with wonderful panoramic views of the entire Tiétar river valley at its confluence with the Tagus river in the heart of the Monfragüe National Park.
