The confluence of the Reuss and Aare rivers is located in the so-called "water castle of Switzerland," a unique river landscape in the canton of Aargau. Here, the three major rivers, the Aare, Reuss, and, a little further downstream, the Limmat, meet—a hydrologically significant location where water from around 40% of Switzerland's land area converges.

At 859 meters, the Burghorn is the highest point on the Lägerngrat. From here, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views: to the south over the Limmat Valley to the Alps 🏔️, and to the north into the Surb Valley and the Aargau Jura 🌳 – a perfect place for a break with a view!

Beserstein Castle Ruins, a popular destination for bikers, hikers, and joggers, offers a beautiful vantage point, a barbecue area, castle ruins, and two WWII bunkers. There's plenty to see and discover.

Very beautiful viewpoint above Villigen, with Alpine pointer, barbecue area, remains of an old castle and two bunkers. The view is fantastic when the weather is good! Viewing angle of around 270°.

One of my favorite places 😍... A place where you can find peace despite the trains moving. A bench invites you to linger. The view over the mouth of the Reuss into the Aare, over the last Reuss bridge, Bruggerberg... Then it goes steeply downhill to the banks of the Reuss. Popular with pedestrians. Local recreation area.

A very nice place to unwind. With a bench you have the opportunity to sit down and watch the beautiful view of the mouth of the Reuss into the Aare, Bruggerberg, the last railway bridge over the Reuss, the bunker on the small peninsula between the Reuss and the Aare. For me one of the most beautiful places ever.

The wooden footbridge was pulled into place by a fallen tree during the last flood. It is still not accessible.

A very interesting area for hiking. If you plan well, you can hike around three rivers - at the water castle of Switzerland. Here, along the Reuss, you come to this railway crossing, the last Reus bridge before it flows into the Aare. On both sides of the bridge there are very beautiful, narrow "terraces" that stretch over the Reuss, where you can safely pass under the bridge. On the east side there is a beautiful Känzeli viewing point, with a bench where you can observe the estuary, the railway bridge and the whole surrounding area. On the west side of the railway bridge, behind the bunker, there is a barbecue area with seating. From there, along the banks of the Aare, through a beautiful hiking trail, with beautiful old trees, left in their natural state, you reach the impressive Rohrbrücke. To the left of there you can see Brugg, to the right - Lauffohr.
