On the Ballenbühl hill, there are two linden trees at the viewpoint, not oak trees.

The Wachseldornmoos is a protected raised bog above Heimenschwand – a quiet, mystical place with a rustic moor landscape, rare plants, and a peaceful atmosphere. Highlights: ✅ Untouched nature & typical raised bog vegetation ✅ Beautiful circular trail (approx. 1.5–2 km) Accessibility: Can be reached on foot from Heimenschwand or Wachseldorn in approx. 30–45 minutes – also easily combined with a bike (e.g., on tours towards Aeschlenalp or Falkenfluh).

On a small hill above Fahrni, the Eduard Imhof Memorial commemorates the famous Swiss cartographer and relief artist 🗺️📚. Imhof shaped Swiss cartography like no other with his three-dimensional, hand-drawn relief maps. Highlights: ✅ Quiet, historic site with views of the Bernese Alps ✅ Small memorial with an information panel about the man and his work ✅ Ideal as a short detour during bike or hiking tours around Heimenschwand, Steffisburg, or Röthenbach Recommendation: Take a short break, learn about Swiss map history, and enjoy the view 👀🌄. Not an official rest area, but very quiet.

The fir tree was felled by a culprit. The police have launched an investigation.

On the heights of Aspi, this lime tree is a remarkable place that is pleasant to observe, but also where it is pleasant to sit down for a break. A nice reward after having climbed the slopes of this hilly landscape.
