Very beautiful cave to see at the bend in the main path near Villers sous Saulnot

Among the Ballons de Comtois, the Ballon de Servance offers a beautiful climb for road cyclists. From Le Thillot, the climb is 13.6 kilometers with an average gradient of 4.9%.

Nice little hike with a view of VESOUL and the sabot.

This obviously interested me in my search for a good tour and that's why I looked here as I had no idea what dolmens were: https://www.lieux-insolites.fr/hsaone/brevilliers/brevilliers.htm The Brévilliers dolmen This dolmen was excavated between 1976 and 1984 by Messrs Petrequin and Pinigre. It is part of a group of 18 megaliths located on the limestone plateau of the Haute-Saône, north of the Jura Arc. These monuments are the survivors of what is certainly a much larger whole. Archival documents refer to a second dolmen in Brévilliers. But this one has unfortunately disappeared. ………….

The closer you get to the actual source, the stronger the blue color of the crystal clear water becomes!

Characterized by its traditional architecture and its surrounding landscapes, this chapel offers a space for contemplation. It is here that Saint-Colomban liked to retire to pray. Legend has it that a bear lived in the nearby cave. As he approached, the monk asked him to withdraw, and the beast never returned. The sick used to come and take water from the miraculous spring. A place full of mystery, in the middle of an idyllic setting!

The Frotey Clog. Legend has it that the devil fell in love with the lady of the nearby Montaigu castle. The lady's husband having left for the crusades in the Holy Land, the devil took advantage of the absence of the master of the place to accost the lady of the castle. This act worked since the lady fell under the demon's spell, and gave in. However, the husband returned opportunely, immediately the devil fled and jumped out the window. In hurrying, the devil lost his clog.
