Fautelfiels Chapel The mysterious Fautelfiels Chapel is located in a natural grotto in the Luxembourg sandstone. During the French Revolution, secret masses were held here. In 2013, the chapel was restored, and a Luxembourg artist created a triptych depicting three different biblical scenes.

We were lucky that a festival was taking place here on September 27, 2025. So it was a special experience for us: we were able to admire the sheep, pick up information about the area, and enjoy a bratwurst and a drink after the hike. Cash or even card payments were accepted. The atmosphere was pleasantly enhanced with bonfires, and there were also coloring books for children...

Beautifully preserved castle with a beautiful garden

Close to an archaeological site, a Neolithic village was reconstructed, which demonstrates the living conditions during the Neolithic Age. The village consists of a replica house, a stone circle, a garden and recreated burial site, a dolmen.

Ansembourg Castle was built in the first half of the 17th century by Thomas Bidard, a pioneer of the steel industry. In the 18th century, the castle experienced a significant turning point when Thomas Bidard’s heirs were elevated to the rank of barons in 1728, then counts. The gardens were laid out in 1750. They are punctuated with statues, staircases and decorative fountains in the style of the gardens of the time.
