The Belchenflue, known locally as Bölche and also known as the Swiss Belchen to distinguish it from the mountain peaks of the same name in Germany and France, is a prominent mountain peak in the Swiss Jura. It is 1,099 m above sea level and lies about 7 km west of Olten. The border between the cantons of Basel-Landschaft and Solothurn runs across the rocky peak.

From the viewing platform on the Roggenfluh, the view of the Mittelland and the Alps is simply brilliant, the two large panoramic maps explain all the mountains from the Glaner Alps to Mont Blanc.

The Roggen, one of my favorite mountains...with fantastic trails towards Balsthal or Oensingen.

wonderful view - mostly chamois can be seen

The view is a hit, you can see the whole of the Mittelland. It was Ascension Day, which is probably why so many mountain bikers were riding up the trail there. The descent is tough. It is steep. No problem for pedestrians. But you should watch out for the mountain bikers, there can be rush hour traffic.

The Roggenflue is a wonderful panoramic mountain in the Solothurn Jura and the hike from Balsthal is really beautiful.
