High up in the rock face on the western side of the Maderkopf, the water emerges from the limestone as an overflow spring and plunges into the depths in several cascades. The impressive waterfall is named after General Hilda, a front-line commander in World War I. Its catchment area extends into the basin of the Upper Wolayer Alm. Lake Wolayer also drains underground into this system.

Update 23/04: at the moment the path to the Cascatelle is closed probably for safety reasons given the high amount of water in the river.

You can reach the Bruggen waterfall in the Obergailer valley via a hiking trail or a climbing route. It is definitely worth it to see how the Obergailer stream plunges so impressively into the depths.

The Rio del Sasso, flowing down from above, forms a small waterfall here in the last few meters before it flows into the Risenabach.

Watercourse along which the "La Roggia dei Mulini" path develops at Lozzo di Cadore. It is interesting that the Baldovin Carulli workshop for the production of electricity uses the waters of the Rio Rin, captured by a dam located in the locality of Le Spesse.
